Welcome to the world’s largest book-sharing movement!

Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that builds community by inspiring readers and expanding book access for all, through a global network of volunteer-led neighborhood libraries.

Studies show that just six minutes of reading per day can reduce stress by up to 68%, slow your heart rate, and improve your overall health. Also, a growing literacy crisis faces the United States today, as more than 30 million adults cannot read or write above a third-grade level. Studies have repeatedly shown that books in the hands of children have a meaningful impact on improving literacy. The more books in or near the home, the more likely a child will learn and love to read, and children who read just 20 minutes a day will more frequently place in the 90th percentile academically. Little Free Library book-sharing boxes play an essential role in communities, providing 24/7 access to books and encouraging a love of reading!

BH Companies proudly supports the Little Free Library movement. Across the country, libraries are popping up at BH communities everywhere, in support of our resident readers, their families and friends. Staying true to our values, BH's employee-led DE&I Committee selected authors and titles aimed at educating young readers on diversity and inclusivity, plus we have committed funds to ensure the newly created libraries are filled with those titles and voices.
